Important Update: Changes to Bitnami Public Catalog

Recently, Bitnami announced significant changes to its container image distribution here. As part of this update, the Bitnami public catalog (docker.io/bitnami) will be permanently deleted on September 29th.

What’s Changing

Impact to Rafay Customers

As a result of these changes, add-ons and workloads created from Rafay’s default-bitnami App Catalog may encounter installation failures. This is due to image pull attempts from docker.io/bitnami that will no longer succeed once the repository is removed.

Recommended Actions

To minimize disruption:

  1. Short-term workaround: Update the repository parameter for each container image to point to the Bitnami Legacy repository (docker.io/bitnamilegacy).
  2. Long-term solution: Wherever possible, transition to upstream repositories to ensure continued updates and support.

Our Customer Success team will be reaching out proactively to ensure you are fully informed about this change. They will also provide guidance and assistance as appropriate to help with this transition.

👉 Next Steps: Review your add-ons and workloads to identify dependencies on Bitnami images, apply the short-term workaround if needed, and plan your migration toward upstream repos.
