v3.1-37 Update 2

23 Dec 2025

This release includes critical bug fixes and new enhancements for upstream Kubernetes host clusters.

External CSI Storage

The Rafay Controller comes bundled with the OpenEBS local storage CSI. This is primarily meant for POCs and Test Deployments. During installation of a new controller, admins can configure it to use their preferred CSI with their storage provider.

Kubernetes v1.33 and v1.34 Support

Added support for Kubernetes versions 1.33 and 1.34 for MKS (Rafay's Kubernetes distribution). This includes:

Additionally, we have updated the patch versions for Kubernetes v1.32 and v1.31. Previous patch versions for v1.31, v1.32, and v1.33 have been removed and are no longer available for new cluster creation.

The full list of supported Kubernetes versions in this package:

Version
v1.34.1
v1.33.5
v1.32.9
v1.31.13

Note

If you are using an MKS System Template or SKU to manage upstream cluster lifecycle management, please refresh the Kubernetes version list in your template to include the updated versions listed above.

Enhanced Node Debugging

Users can now view and download node-level debug logs directly from the console, eliminating the need to SSH into individual nodes for troubleshooting. This option is available on every node card within the cluster view.

RHEL 10 Support

Added support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 10 as the operating system for nodes in Rafay MKS clusters. This enables customers to leverage the latest RHEL 10 features and security enhancements for their cluster infrastructure.

v3.1-37 Update 1

12 Dec 2025

New Roles for CSP Customer Org Type

In this release, we are introducing a new role in Tenant Orgs to streamline their day-to-day operations.

Tenant Admin

A new role for customer admins instead of the Org Admin role. Tenant Admins can perform the following tasks in their Orgs.

Separation into New Portals & Services

To provide a better experience for end customers, various capabilities have been separated across multiple portals. End-customer capabilities are available through the following portals:

Customization of Welcome Email for New Users

Service Providers can now customize the welcome email content that is sent to new users of the platform. For example, the provider may wish to provide links to a user guide in the welcome email.

Custom Error Message

When instance deployment failures occur, service providers can now present the end users with a customize error message and override the default.

Custom Informational Messages

Service Providers can now present users with a customized informational message when users initial deletion of instances.

Confirmation Action for SKUs

Users now need to acknowledge with a confirmation when they perform changes/updates to SKUs.

Datacenter Selector for Service Profiles

Service Profiles (SKUs) now support selectors for datacenter (from inventory). If configured, service instances can be pinned to a specific datacenter specified in the selector.

Usage Reports

Cloud Providers can now generate and download usage reports for their end customers (tenant organizations). This capability is available in the default Org and enables Cloud Providers to:

Two types of usage reports are supported:

Tenant Dashboard Improvements

A number of enhancements have been introduced to improve clarity and usability across the Tenant Dashboard and Developer Hub:

External Storage for Controller

During installation of the self hosted/air gapped controller, admins can now specify a CSI provider for external storage managed by the organization. For example, the organization may have standardized on a storage platform such as Vast or DDN or Weka or Ceph. This is the recommended and required option for production deployments. This enhancement is supported for both initial installations (Day 0) and Day 2 operations.

Important: To use external storage, ensure that the necessary CSI drivers are installed on the Controller nodes and the external storage option is enabled in config.yaml before executing the radm dependency command.

For more information, please refer to 1.4. Common Setup Steps in the installation guide.

Info

The default "openebs" based CSI option is still available, but limited to only POCs and Demos.
