# Preflight Check

## Preflight Checks

Rafay provides a standalone preflight check utility/script. All users are recommended to run this to avoid common installation issues, run the pre-flight check script on the controller nodes. This utility validates OS, node size, and other important configurations before the actual installation.

Important

Please do not proceed to the next step unless the preflight checks pass.

Shown below are example results for successful and failed preflight checks.

### Success

The image below shows the results of a preflight check that was successful and clean. The system is suitable for installation of the Rafay air-gapped controller.

### Failure

The image below shows the results of a preflight check that failed. The system is not suitable for installation of the Rafay air-gapped controller.
